Cadaqués A charming, delightful village off the beaten track The Bay of Cadaqués, nestled between the sea and mountains, is a fisherman's village that has preserved its Mediterranean lifeblood throughout the passage of time. Considered the jewel in the Costa Brava crown, it is located in the heart of the Cap de Creus Natural Park, where the first rays of sun bathe the peninsula each morning. Light that beckons you to stroll along its cobbled streets, pristine beaches and pathways brimming with life. An historic enclave that has given rise to artists such as Josep Pla, Klein or Picasso. Yet it is Salvador Dali who endowed it with artistic splendour through an intense cultural life.

A beautifully situated cliff-side site, enjoying fine views of the sea and coast below, it is shaped something like half a bowl with steep slopes. High up on the site, with a superb aspect, is the attractive restaurant/bar with a large terrace overlooking the pleasant swimming pool directly below. There are terraced, flat areas for caravans and tents (with 10/16A electricity) on the upper levels of the two slopes, with a great many individual pitches for tents scattered around the site. Some of these pitches have fantastic settings and views. The site is unsuitable for campers with disabilities. In some areas cars may be required to park separately. The shoreline is dotted with a succession of coves which can be reached along the coastal footpath. The camping Los Escullos San Jose is a first class campsite. The pitches are spacious and have also shade. Drinking water and electricity are available, the toilets, with showers are connected to solar energy, and so we have free hot water. There are also toilets for disabled people, washing machines, washing sinks, a large swimming-pool with solar heating system, as well as deck chairs and parasols, a fantastic Jacuzzi, showers, massages, supermarket, restaurant, T.V. and library room, animation, sports grounds, ice-cream and a snack-bar.
