Outstanding campsite for a holiday
Review of the campsite
This is our third time staying at Au Gre Des Vents and it definitely won't be our last! Detailed and considerate booking process, a warm and cheerful welcome, well-kept and spacious pitches, clean and effective facilities, a wonderful swimming pool, appropriately low-key but delightful entertainment and an excellent bar serving the food and drink we needed. The owners were considerate, helpful, friendly and always ready for a chat!
None we could identify. It is clear from our repeated visits that the owners are constantly updating the facilities, and therefore looking make any improvements needed. This is one of the reasons we are so impressed by the campsite.

The abundant hot water and close proximity to Rochefort.
The swimming pool for families, though I never used it.
Remove the recycling food container away from the sanitation— it stank. I felt sorry for the nearby pitches.
There was no choice of pitches and there were too many crowded together or between permanently erected tents

None we could identify. It is clear from our repeated visits that the owners are constantly updating the facilities, and therefore looking make any improvements needed. This is one of the reasons we are so impressed by the campsite.
It was perfect for what we needed, and exactly as promised through the booking process. The site has plenty of trees which gives ideal shade during the summer. The hedges between each pitch gave a helpful sense of privacy.

Review of the campsite
Site is quiet, and located within reach of several places of interest.
'Luxury' pitches are not fully serviced. Many pitches are sloping, are odd shapes, and some are cramped with caravan awning and car. Some have little or no shade too. Bushes and hedges have not been trimmed at all. Site roads are unpaved, dusty and tight corners. Facilities are clean, but water supply for caravans is feeble and *very* slow. Electricity supply seems inadequate, as our and other neighbours fridges kept tripping out. Site appears uncared for.
Luckily out pitch had shade, and compared to others, was a reasonable size. Everyone we spoke too said they would not come again
Certainly not a luxury pitch, as not a fully serviced, also sloping and stony ground. Hard even to turn the car around as too tight.

The site is wonderful! Location is 15 minutes walk into Rochefort en Terre one way, and the other, a beautiful lake. The site is family run and they couldn’t do enough, bread delivered in the morning, quiet shaded pitches and the pool was terrific.

Ideally situated to visit the village of Rochefort-en-Terre and to circumnavigate the nearby lake.
Better signage for vehicles queuing to enter the site.
Grass pitch and despite torrential rain drained well with no problems.

Maybe bring the quiet curfew a bit earlier so the tranquility of the site can be appreciated in the late evening.
Had a choice of pitches. No problems with the electric
Entry to our particular pitch was quite tight.

Review of the campsite
Everything was excellent and I have confidently recommended the site to many people. The toilets and washroom were clean and modern, always lots of hot water. The swimming pool was lovely, the site was a green oasis, very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The staff were very polite and helpful. Bar/cafe on site offering take away food. It’s a lovely site which I would thoroughly recommend - the staff are English speakers.

Review of the campsite
Delightful site,so friendly. It was really busy as it was a bank holiday, but that didn’t detract at all. Lovely to see and hear the children enjoying themselves( and the grown- ups too. Lovely walks from the site - meander through woods, or round the lake. Visit the beautiful Rochefort en terre just 8 minute walk away. The small chateau puts all the bigger ones in their place. The streets have lovely shops and the cake stall is fab. The bar area is just nice and drinks are so reasonable. We’ve had 2 takeaways already .Thanks to the lovely lady on the bar and Coco ( shoterened name sorry).
