Vaison la Romaine is situated 8 miles from the foot of the 6,263ft high Mont Ventoux and is surrounded by the numerous picturesque villages of the High Vaucluse. It is a real paradise for walkers, cyclists and wine lovers. The town itself is renowned for its imposing Roman ruins, its medieval _old town_ as well as its large and fascinating Provencal market each Tuesday. The town has two large supermarkets, a wide range of smaller shops as well as many excellent restaurants. English newspapers are available from early morning in the town. The area benefits from the lovely Provencal climate. Camping Théâtre Romain caters for couples and families who are looking for a peaceful and spotlessly clean campsite. It is the perfect spot to appreciate the beauty of Provence and the history of the area. Established in 1994 the campsite is less than 600 yards from the town centre, a gentle stroll past the ruins of a Roman town and its Roman theatre. We have 65 pitches as well as 17 Mobile Homes for rent situated on over 3 acres. The pitches are mainly separated by hedges interspersed with mature trees to provide partial shade. Our facilities include a heated swimming pool, a boules area and free Wi-Fi internet access. There is no organised entertainment for children !!!

A little tight for bigger Motorhomes (mine is 7.8 m long)

Stayed 4 nights, facilities were fantastic. Very quiet. Close to everything you need, shops cafes restaurants. Swimming on site but water too cold for us and can get very busy.

Great location near to town centre for market, restaurants etc. Friendly helpful staff and campers - great social life on site. Facilities great and pool is now heated as well by solar panels. We have been before and will be back.
