When we decided to treat ourselves to a well-deserved break, we wanted all the charm of Provence without the chaotic energy of the coast. Nestled in Apt, Camping Le Luberon hit the spot immediately. This 4-star forest haven offered the quiet environment our family needed to slow down and recharge.

We opted for a spacious, modern chalet tucked under the oak and pine trees. Perched slightly above the rest of the grounds, it provided incredible privacy and a calm atmosphere. Thanks to the natural canopy and smart design, the indoor temperature stayed remarkably cool without relying on non-stop air conditioning.

Our absolute highlight after a busy year was having a private jacuzzi right at our doorstep. Meeting up there in the late afternoon became a cherished daily routine for the four of us—a quiet, intimate moment that easily ranks among our favorite holiday memories.

It was a big year for our six-year-old, who tried the camping youth club for the first time. The language barrier didn't slow him down for a second; he jumped right in with total excitement. Having him happily occupied gave us the chance to rest and focus on a gentler pace with our youngest.

Our two-year-old was thrilled with the splash pad, packed with fun water fountains and interactive jets. As parents, what we appreciated most was the layout: the three swimming pools are completely divided, which made supervising two small children stress-free.

We regularly started our mornings with an easy 25-minute walk to Saignon. With the toddler in the baby carrier and our eldest walking beside us, it was a pleasant trek through nature. Arriving at the hilltop village felt like stepping into a postcard, complete with sweeping views and an undisturbed local vibe.

No walk to Saignon was complete without stopping at "Chez Christine" , a wonderfully authentic café. Sitting on the terrace with freshly baked pastries was a joy—especially the local "Louis Philippe" cake, rich with orange blossom and pine nuts.

Visiting in July allowed us to experience the annual Lavender Festival in Apt. It was vibrant and full of local culture, yet completely manageable with young kids. It really showed us how the Luberon manages tourism: thoughtful, relaxed, and focused on meaningful moments rather than mass crowds.

On our final evening, we walked up to the highest rocky outcrop in Saignon for a panoramic view of the region. Watching the sun go down over Mont Ventoux, the ochres of Roussillon, the Grand Luberon, and glowing purple lavender fields was pure magic. It captured the exact feeling of our trip: comfort, nature, and the joy of being right where we belonged together.

We ended up dining at the campsite's own eatery, "Chez Titi", on multiple occasions. Our oldest was obsessed with their pizzas, and the covered terrace made for lovely evenings. With a friendly vibe and dedicated options for the toddler, it suited our family routine perfectly.
