Located directly on the banks of the Thouet River, the campsite combines a quiet, natural setting with a family-friendly atmosphere. At the same time, the historic Château de Montreuil-Bellay is just a short walk away. As soon as we arrived, we noticed that the campsite is intentionally kept at a manageable, cozy size. This creates a pleasant and personal atmosphere where families can quickly unwind

While our two children enthusiastically attended the Kids' Club, we enjoyed spending a completely relaxed morning as a couple. The diverse games and activities were not only great fun but also brought the children together with peers from various countries.

Later, we picked them up and joined in on a craft activity together, which was a lovely way to wrap up the morning as a family.

We have particularly fond memories of the entertainment team. The staff were incredibly warm and caring with the children. When our kids helped pick up some stray candy wrappers, they were even surprised with a bag of sweets as a small token of appreciation—a sweet gesture that says a lot about the family atmosphere at the campsite.

At lunchtime, we took part in a wine tasting with a local winemaker right on the campsite. These small events are fantastic because they allow you to get to know the local region during your holiday without any organizational hassle—truly great!

The wines on offer tasted excellent and gave us a first impression of the wine region around Montreuil-Bellay. At the same time, it provided an easy opportunity to chat with other campers. Friendly conversations quickly struck up, leading to casual exchanges about excursions, experiences, and recommendations for the region.

It was precisely this relaxed atmosphere that made our stay so pleasant. No one was in a rush; instead, friendly encounters with other families and couples happened quite naturally.

In the afternoon, we wanted to explore the surroundings on our own. We found the campsite's bike rental service particularly practical. We were able to reserve the bikes easily via a partner app, and they were then delivered directly to our pitch, so we could head off right away.

Our destination was a bike ride along the Vélo Francette. This well-known cycle route runs right along the river and is excellent for families. The paths are pleasant to ride on and there is barely any traffic.

We took a break at the Étang de la Ballastière recreational area in Saint-Martin-de-Sanzay. While our children explored the playground and let off steam, we were able to rest on a bench and enjoy the moment. It was exactly this mix of activity and small rest stops that made the trip enjoyable for everyone.

The next day, we spontaneously decided to visit the Château de Montreuil-Bellay. It was incredibly convenient that the reception organized the booking for us quickly and without any fuss.

Since the castle is less than a kilometer away, we could easily walk there, leaving the car parked at the campsite.

We were impressed as soon as we entered the castle grounds. The historic building and well-kept gardens form a beautiful backdrop and invite you to take your time on the tour.

For families, there is also a riddle trail that makes the castle visit even more engaging. Together, we solved the various puzzles, and everyone was able to contribute their own ideas. This made the visit not only interesting but also really entertaining. Our children were highly enthusiastic, and we adults had a lot of fun searching for solutions together too.

Camping Les Nobis d'Anjou itself offers numerous ways to keep your holiday varied—you don't even have to leave the grounds.

On warm days, the (heated) pool invites you to swim and relax. For those who prefer to stay active, you can take part in trivia nights or compete with other guests in table tennis tournaments and games of pétanque.

In the evenings, family events and occasional concerts create a pleasant atmosphere across the campsite. The events are geared towards guests of all ages, providing fun opportunities to wind down the day in good company.
