Castellane (altitude 720m) is situated in Haute-Provence, at the crossroads of the magnificent Gorges du Verdon (Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon) and the Route Napoléon. It is a calm tourist centre and enjoying the benefits of the Provençal climate. Camping Notre-Dame is bordered by a small stream and is only 600 m from the village. The site is flat and well shaded, having a quiet family atmosphere, providing free hot showers (24 hours a day), small shop and a variety of mobile-homes to rent. Castellane itself offers many shops and a supermarket, a large heated swimming-pool, tennis courts, rafting, kayaking, canyonning and fishing in the Verdon river. At the lake of Castillon, a mere 5kms up a splendid hill, one can sail, windsurf and swim. In addition, there is hiking, horse riding, mountain biking and climbing in the Gorges du Verdon. For the experts, there is cave exploring and geological sites (Réserve Géologique de Haute-Provence). Camping Notre-Dame is open April / October.

In the back of the campsite, there is a path, you can reach the city center for 15 minutes. Barcelonnette is a city rich in history, culture with a lot of animations during the summer. The Tampico is the ideal base for discovering the city, but also for exploring the Parc du Mercantour by hiking, climbing the legendary passes of the Valley, enjoying whitewater sports on the Ubaye ... exotic holidays, in the fresh mountain air!
