The sunrise and sunset views over the lake and distant evening thunder was very beautiful to watch, we have a lot of photographs! We decided to extend our stay for another two nights as it was very enjoyable and would recommend.
We hadn’t realised that the restaurant was closed Monday and Tuesday, we arrived Sunday for three nights! The other food takeaways were also closed, probably due to end of season. There were some noisy dogs on site but were quite a distance from us, so not too much of an issue.

It was our third stay, 1 with the previous owner and 2 with slow village. The campsite and the lake are as beautiful as ever and the site remains untouched. The restaurant/bar is in a beautiful spot and serves nice food including vegetarian options. The staff were friendly and welcoming.
We were camping in a nature lodge and were placed next to the sanitaries. The doors were slamming and creaking and the smell of urine was sometimes coming to us with the wind. We found the toilets smellier than before. We asked the reception to look at the toilet doors to add padding but this was not done. We saw a man do it and when I asked him if he worked there he said he didn't but could not bear the noise which was waking him at night so he bought his own pads which he was fixing on the doors! Also there are no recycling bins in the toilets/showers, that's a shame.

Not cleaned and maintained to the standard of the previous owners Le Tedey. Had to clean the van ourselves on arrival. Stains on the floor and walls. Spiders and cobwebs in the kitchen and bedroom

Large pitches, with pinewood trees protecting you from the sun. Although the camping is fairly big, it doesn't feel that way. The atmosphere is very relaxing, comfortable and sportive. We especially liked the own secluded beachclub at the lakeside, with bar-restaurant and surf / sail / SUP-board rental. The ocean is a 10 minute drive in lively Lacanau Ocean. Great place for wave surfing.

Pitches are large, more than enough shadow. Our pitch (132 sqm) was situated close to all facilities. If you are on the far side of the camping, you better bring or rent a bike. Because every pitch has trees, its great to bring a hammock!

Having been a regular visitor to Le Tedey this was our first trip to SV. The campsite has retained its spirit and beauty. The bar/ restaurant has been hugely improved and additions like the laundry and charging point were welcomed. Yoga on the beach was AMAZING- a real highlight, with an incredible teacher.
The toilets were not so clean. Sanitary bins overflowing. Dirty floors.

The lake and pitches are fantastic, as always. However, since switching from Le Tedey to Slow Village, there have been many disappointing changes. And ironically, it’s lost that relaxed, laid back feeling. Everything is so impersonal now and feels like you are being utilised to make the company money at every opportunity. It was, however, lovely to see the ladies in the shop were still there and the pastries exactly the same-absolutely delicious! For newcomers, the location is breathtaking, but Le Tedey regulars will be disappointed-as confirmed in discussions with other guests.
The sanitary blocks were not cleaned thoroughly or regularly enough. The bar and restaurant are now massively over priced. The staff were rude. Services aren’t as easy to book (the boat man has gone!). We felt like the aim of Slow Village was not to provide us with a fantastic holiday, but simply to make as much money as possible out of us. Disappointing.

The cleanliness of the beaches around the lac, the smell in the toilets and the cleanliness of the toilets and showers. General litter everywhere. There was discarded food and clothing on the lake front beach the entire time of our stay and rubbish at the washing up facilities for the same two weeks.

The step on the footpath beside our pitch were broken and it made it dangerous to walk down.

I came to this campsite all through my childhood and teenage years. I have brought my own children for the past 8 years (except for during covid). This tells you how much I love it. I have enjoyed many many wonderful holidays here and hope to continue doing so. The lake is a wonderful place if you enjoy swimming, sailing, windsurfing or kayaking, or just relaxing. The ambiance of the campsite is very friendly. The shop is well priced and stocks a good range of grocery items including excellent fruit and vegetables and has a great boulangerie.
This is the first year I have visited since the campsite changed ownership &, I have to say, the new owners haven't quite got it right yet. First, the pitches are priced too high. I understand that there has been investment in the site but this is the installation of safari tents & little houses, the pitches have changed very little & yet are significantly more expensive. This is disappointing. Secondly, cleaning of the sanitary blocks is not as good as it used to be. They are not as clean & the system for cleaning is chaotic creating queues. Thirdly, the bar is now noisy at night.

The view of the lake is magical. No better view from a tent as far as I am concerned.
The reeds are slowly blocking access to the water. When I came here in the 1980s, there were no reeds at all along this beach and the sand was clean. There was lots more space for swimming, and it was much safer for children as they could access the shallows (now almost exclusively covered in reeds) and could be seen from the shore, which is now impossible because of the reeds. The reeds also mean that boats are concentrated at the few narrow entry points, further reducing access. The reeds also disrupt the few of some of the lakeside pitches.
