Honestly, during this long weekend in a caravan at Camping Lou P’tit Poun, we all enjoyed being able to live at our own pace. Our son signed up directly for a surf course. So in the mornings, he went straight to the beach to practice with the instructor right after having breakfast with pastries sold at the campsite.
As for us, we took the opportunity to visit Bayonne one day and Biarritz the next.
There is a bus stop right in front of Camping Lou P’tit Poun, which is very practical so you don't have to worry about moving the caravan all weekend. Getting to Bayonne takes only 15 minutes, saving us from all the hassles related to parking.
Bayonne is a beautiful city. We particularly enjoyed visiting some of its markets, such as the market in the town hall square on Friday. There, we found a wide selection of regional products: ham, peppers, wine, cheese, etc. We had to hold ourselves back from buying everything!
The next day went just like the first. Our son left for his surf course while we went to visit Biarritz. We strolled along the seafront and the harbor. We stopped to take a few photos of the Rock of the Virgin and the Biarritz lighthouse. We hesitated about visiting the Biarritz Aquarium, which they say is well worth it, but the weather was so beautiful that we preferred to stay outdoors and enjoy the beach for the rest of the day.
