A fabulous stay at a fantastic site with some unbelievable views finished off by having some very good hosts. The best site we have visited so far on our journey round France.
We prefer not to have mixed toilets and showers.

Stunning setting, so peaceful and fresh. Great facilities and clean too. We came for two nights and stayed for four right at the end of ghe season. We were blessed with stunning weather too. Staff were very polite and helpful. The local village has two restaurants, a pizza cafe, shop selling fresh bread, cakes, meat etc.

Our arrival at Camping Champ La Chèvre immediately immersed us in a striking natural setting, as it is located right at the entrance of the beautiful Jarjatte valley. Although the campsite is geographically situated in the Drôme department—right on the border of the Hautes-Alpes—the surrounding landscape, dominated by the majestic Aiguilles de Dévoluy, felt incredibly close to that of the high Alps.
We found the campsite to be the perfect base for discovering the Vercors Regional Natural Park. Located in a much less crowded area, it allowed us to enjoy hiking trails that were just as spectacular as those in more famous sectors, but with an unmatched sense of peace.
Thanks to the precise and tailored advice provided by Cécile and Vincent at the campsite reception, we were able to organize a self-guided day of hiking.
In the morning, we set off toward Lac du Lauzon from La Jarjatte. The route began with about 2 km of approach followed by a loop of approximately four and a half hours, making it both highly accessible and truly spectacular. We took the opportunity to stop for a family picnic with sandwiches while soaking in the impressive views.
On another day, we enjoyed a canyoning excursion organized by a local provider from the village. We headed to the Marmites du Diable, located about a thirty-minute drive away. The activity was playful, incredibly refreshing, and highly appreciated by the whole family.
That same evening, we went on a two-to-three-hour hike with the children, setting off around 6:00 PM to catch the sunset. Accompanied by Laurent and Mélanie, the campsite guides, we were treated to a magical evening that included spotting chamois in the wild.
After returning from our hike in the afternoon, we took some time to rest in our accommodation. Every late afternoon, we made it a ritual to unwind in the campsite's heated indoor swimming pool, which felt particularly pleasant after a long walk.
One evening, we took part in an activity led by Jérôme, a former high-mountain guide. He hosted a storytelling session centered around the starlit sky, organized in a field right next to the campsite. It was an absolute hit with the children.
Our stay was defined by wonderful freshness; we never suffered from the summer heat, and the nights remained pleasantly cool and restful.
Throughout the entire trip, we enjoyed a true feeling of tranquility while sharing numerous family activities in an incomparable natural setting.
