Bij aankomst stromende regen en de aangewezen plek was moeilijk bereikbaar. Uiteindelijk alles goed opgelost.

A simple, shared family day at Camping Domaine de Chadeyron

Why it was the perfect nature haven for our family

  • Hyper-preserved environment (a 50-hectare estate with no nearby roads and a magnificent panoramic view over the valley), featuring beautiful, easily accessible flora and fauna.
  • Just a few kilometers from major attractions (10 minutes from Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, 15 minutes from the Pont d'Arc, and 18 minutes from the Chauvet Cave).
  • Numerous surrounding hiking trails that create memorable moments of shared connection.
  • The GR 4 long-distance footpath passes close to the campsite.
  • Perfect for families looking for nature, hiking, peace and quiet, and shared activities with their children.

Exploring the botanical trail

With our kids aged 4 and 7 years old

Thanks to the fresh bread service available at the campsite every morning, we bought fresh bread and prepared sandwiches to pack for a family picnic along the trail.

Before heading out for the day, we stopped by the reception of

Camping Domaine de Chadeyron to ask for information about the local hiking trails. Among the available route options—ranging from 1-hour, 1.5-hour, to 3-hour walks accessible to all skill levels—we chose the botanical trail hike. It was the easiest option, making it very straightforward to keep our two children interested and engaged. 

During the walk, the provided documentation allowed us to share fascinating information about the local fauna and flora with our children. They were truly intrigued, and all of us ended up learning quite a bit about the plant life along the path. Halfway through the hike, we paused together to enjoy our homemade picnic in this calming natural setting.

A refreshing stop in the village of Lagorce

On our way back from our outing, we made a stop in the village of Lagorce to have a drink. What was meant to be a short break extended a bit longer, and we ended up snacking a little extra at the bar-restaurant. During this refreshing pause, the children safely played and wandered around the charming village square near the establishment. Before returning to the campsite, we took advantage of the visit to buy some local products from the village shops.

Back at the campsite, the children had a fantastic time cooling off at the aquatic play area. Designed specifically for young water lovers, this fun zone provided plenty of entertainment and splash-filled joy throughout our stay.

Excursion to nearby Vallon-Pont-d'Arc

Located just 10 minutes from the campsite, Vallon-Pont-d'Arc proved to be an unmissable destination during our trip. Beyond viewing the iconic natural arch of the Ardèche, visiting the town made it extremely convenient for us to access all essential services and local shops.
When we arrived back at Camping Domaine de Chadeyron, a lovely surprise was waiting for us: a foam party organized specifically for the children. Despite the festive activity, it remained a calm evening that wrapped up early. It did not disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the campsite, which was greatly appreciated by everyone.

Children's club activities

During our stay, we were delighted to take advantage of the campsite's Kids' Club, which runs three mornings a week from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The activity leader speaks several languages, making international families feel instantly welcome. A wonderful feature of the club is that parents are warmly invited to join in and participate alongside their children if they wish to share in the activities.

This flexible approach gives parents the freedom to either share special memories with their kids or enjoy a quiet, relaxing morning to themselves.

Our time at Camping Domaine de Chadeyron was defined by simple pleasures, authentic family connection, and a truly quiet atmosphere.
