Castel Camping La Garangeoire

A world apart from the hustle and bustle of the coastal resorts, La Garangeoire lies on the stones of an ancient Gallo-Roman temple...
Our family stayed in static accommodation and we pitched our caravan - we were all close to each other and able to enjoy a very valued family time
Great sized pitch with plenty of space
Adult swimming facility, lane swimming with no children
No fly screens on bedrooms in chalets.
Loved the shower, and the space of the living area.
No fly screens in bedroom
Horse riding and archery
The accommodation was dirty when we arrived and it took us 2hours to clean. We were going to complain on more than one occasion but because reception was busy we didn't. Otherwise out stay was very good.
Its a lovely place to stay for families with younger children.
Well equipped, attractive and well positioned.
Decking was under a tree which had roosting pigeons..you can guess...however, we accepted that the birds were there first.
The pitch was spacious and surrounded by trees, a quiet spot. The pool, the choice of activities, the archery instructor, kids club, bike route, lake
We loved this camping site set in the midst of a forest! It had activities for all ages. Really fantastic and we intend to go back again next year!!
More shadow opportunities at the Lagoon.
Space, light in-fall, all possible cutlery, very comfortable!!
Slightly softer beds.
excellent location and facilities
the bed was not comfortable
it was spacious
the bed was uncomfortable, the unit had no cooker
Clean site, in well wooded grounds and a most delightful staff who do their best for you.
The old grumpy woman , black hair and glasses, give her a miss, works evenings in the bar next to the swimming pools. A very obnoxious and rude disposition when dealing with me, a widower, can't speak French very well but tries, I would have given this site mostly 10 out of 10 if it were not for this personage.
Near the amenities but still private enough to sit outside in the morning having breakfast and feeding the birds
A little cramped , getting in and out of the shower for a big lad like myself
La Garangeoire is well set, with absolutely everything that you can need on site. Great accommodation, very good pools, good mini-market and superb bars and massive daily entertainment program. The care and attention of the staff is 2nd to none. Lot's of 'rules' - but all without doubt for the benefit of the guest. Eric has got it 100% on track here - winning combination.
space, quality, privacy
the evening entertainment (garden party, circus etc)
i think a changing area by the pool might be helpful
the location and outside area
a few more shelves would be helpful to put things!
Location was wonderful and team were really helpful. Lots of games and activities to keep children and adults happy.
Great location and good size accommodation. Comfortable and clean.
Friendly staff, well organised, clean and beautiful location.
Great value for money, clean and comfortable
Lovely setting in the forest, great pools and lots of space
Hornets outside our cabin each evening
A fantastic place to spend our holiday..the kids had an amazing time at the pool which was a little bit of paradise..lots activities for all the family and enjoyed all that La Garangeoire had to offer
Our Taos accommodation was fantastic. Clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for a family of 6 with great decked area and garden area..we loved it
Garden, trees, bike hire, improved pool
Restaurant very slow and food poor. Too hot at night in the mobile home.
The mini garden, the wooden deck
No air conditioning
Really enjoy our stay here and will be returning again. The staff was extremely helpful and the kids loved the pool.
I would recommend air fresheners in the toilets as many people use them and they smell quite bad. Also the restaurant was a little over priced for the quality of food provided.
Bins being so far away, takeaway not great
Size of pitch
Too many Brit's prefer indeed virtually all Brit's, sites with mixed nationals.
Very efficiently managed site
Ease of use. Calm and quiet
Amazing. Well equipped pitch. Great facilities and loads for kids to do.
Horse riding-my daughter was put on a pony much too small for her.
Private and well equipped
Everything as fantastic as usual. 6th time at this site.
Sun and shade.
Not the biggest pitch
Pool, activities and staff
Shower blocks in need of an update
Fridge and storage area, not too far away from showers and the pool area
The hike to bin area
Very well organised campsite
Comfortable bed, excellent bathroom
A bit small when weather was not perfect and no morning sun
General atmosphere is very relaxed and the personnel on site can’t do enough to help make your stay and outings as good and as smooth as possible. People told us that they had been returning year after year and we can see why. We booked for next year before we left!
The pitch is advertised as being by the entrance driveway as if it’s an issue but it was a perfect pitch for us. It is very quiet and peaceful; cool amongst the trees and BIG! People walk past to go to the recycling so we put up a windbreak as a screen or had a chat with many of them. Access could look tight for a large caravan but we placed our twin axle without an issue.
Overall location, sports animations, orienteering, lack of traffic on site, very friendly staff. Shop well priced.
No ball games in the pool? Not a lot of fun for 10-11 year old boys! Tennis expensive and lots of people playing without paying. Pizzas very average for price.
Clean, good condition
Cramped in places, no oven or microwave.
Loved the premium lodge which had everything we needed
For a premium lodge, the bed wasn’t the comfiest or best quality
Spacious and very well equipped
We really liked the feel of Castel Camping La Garangeoire. We plan to return in the future, probably to the same cabin Boules des ? We liked the location and the grounds. The staff also really made our holiday from reception to maintenance.
Amme the masseuse ( massage over the top of your clothes ). I have experience in receiving similar types of massage and although she is a lovely lady, she is not a good advert for services at Castel Camping La Garangeoire in our view. A real waste of E30, I'd wished I'd spent it on something else for my husband and I.
For a family with a teenage girl and 11 year old boy, the 3 bedrooms was definitely the best choice for us. I also liked the outside furniture. Next year I'm going bring fairy lights.
I'm not sure our BBQ was working correctly which put us off using it a bit. Maintenance was very quick, but all the gas had gone after 2 uses.
The campsite was well run and welcoming. We had a lovely holiday.
We enjoyed every aspect of our holiday to the excellent activities and entertainment provided. To the clean facilities, friendly staff and excellent food and drink. It was my sons second birthday and we had requested before we arrived a dairy free alternative cake as he is intolerant to dairy they where more than happy to provide this for us for our special meal in the restaurant for his birthday and it was beautiful.
Fridge and barbecue was spotless when we arrived. Pitch was an excellent size for our big tent.
loads of activities for kids
lady looking after the bar in the evenings was rude and not a good host, charges for activities annoying when they are free in most other campsites
home cooked food at the takeaway
restaurant books out v quickly
Everything just seemed to work very well. Very friendly staff. It was good how you could bring thw take away food into the main garden/bar. The kids loved the bouncy castle. There are plenty of activities for the kids to do and the organised progrmme is great. The pitch size was really good!
It was sometimes a little noisy on one or two of the the camping pitches after 11pm. It would be good if there was a crepiere and waffle house onsite too. The bands were great and it would have been good if they started at 8:30pm rather than 9pm. There was a bad smell in the male toilets.
The size of the pitch was fab. The hired equipment was in a lovely condition.
Friendly knowledgable staff. Clean and great facilities. So much to do for children and adults.
The only thing that was out of control- some stormy weather!
Great spot, sunny and plenty of space.
A couple of her les in the ground, we should have had filled, but forgot to ask before the tent went up.
What a great place, loads to do if you want, or you can just chill. Big site but plenty of room for all and never felt cramped or busy. Always kept clean and tidy.
Nothing at all
Hugh pitches with privacy, but easy to access with the caravan
Too many English speaking people. Not really like being in France. That’s ok if that’s what you want / expect, but felt a long way to go for a home from home for us. Also, weather was rubbish all week (again home from home). Nothing the park can do, but we did think we’d be going far enough south to get at least mid 20s.
The pitch was great.
Is very small for four people, but is all that was left when we booked.
Friendly helpful lots to do
Not enough sun on that angle of the pitch
Not enough evening entertainment for adults
My family were staying with Canvas Holidays. I still had my independence and we met up.
Pitch was good, staff very friendly and helpful. Site was clean and well organised
Pool was a bit overcrowded and a bit lacking in space for older children.
Pitch size great and bathroom very modern and clean
Pitch was a little dark with the high bank and tree cover
Excellent onsite facilities , rarely left the site , kids loved onsite activities, activities were excellent value especially archery and pony riding
- Mobile home, comfortable with three bedrooms and two showers. - Kids loves the kids club. - Bar with huge garden is great and feels nice and safe for children running around. - Pool is lovely and lots of sunloungers
(Minor points) - Pitch we had last year (Pivoines) was slightly better than this year (Roses) because it had more of a sun trap at the end of the day. - I have coeliac disease (I appreciate I am in the minority) - but a gluten free lagers in the bar wouldn’t go a miss. Overall- no real complaints.
Lovely and clean Showers are nice and powerful Beds comfy
Pillows not that comfortable
Despite all the staff having excellent English, I tried to speak French and appreciated the help and encouragement the staff gave me, instead of just speaking English back.
Would be good to have a "Changing Places" style disabled toilet facility, including an adult sized changing table. My daughter has cerebral palsy and is now too big for baby changing tables.
Lots for the children to do. Staff were very helpful
Reasonable sized living accommodation
Shower door dripped quite a lot onto bathroom floor when opened
Restaurant, lake, walks
Clean, modern and comfortable
4th time staying. Gets better each year. Entertainment this year was better than previous years. Hope to be back.
Very well laid out site. Very impressed with the new modifications at the reception area, very smart and much safer having a cycle path. Enjoyed all the activities we did especially the wine tasting and archery.
It was a shame to have a quiz on our last night (Friday) would have preferred some live music as some of the groups they had on were brilliant.
Space. Away from the camp with loads of garden area, 2 mins walk to the site. very relaxed.
Accommodation is getting a little tired, especially the Bathroom.
Really helpful friendly staff, site kept clean, fantastic amenities for all ages. Pre booking request put in to go back next year
Having the comfort of our own private sanitary block was amazing, truly spoilt!
Great facilities and very clean everywhere. There's so much to do if you don't just want to sit by the pool. The food is great and the service was spot on.
There does seem to be a problem with mosquitoes if you're camping. We got eaten alive the first night which put a bit pf a dampner on the holiday. So it would be a good idea if the campsite could warn people on their arrival so they can cover themselves in repellant every night.
Great space and perfect location.
The whole tone of the site is welcoming yet keen to encourage kindness between campers. Beautifully kept, great attention to detail and loads of great activities.
The bar queues were long and the restaurant was lower in quality than the site e.g. very few vegetables mistakes in service etc.
Noise from the back road at times !
The setting with the chateaux
The yellow toilet block Showers were quite dirty we preferred to walk to the gray block
We had grass not hard standing
We had grass with electric on the Avenue / drive
Nice campsite with large pitches, good walks for the dog around the site, friendly staff on arrival and while there. Would recommend this site.
No disposal for grey waste close by.
Lots to do, friendly staff. Clean and modern facilities
Lovely pitch would ask for the same one again if we go next year
Pedalo. Lake. Atmosphere. Staff.
Pool area - we were in la Guyonniere and the pool complex there is far superior which would influence us to choose it over you.
Great place, relaxing, variety of things to do, great beaches
good staff, very clean site, lots of things to do
it had everything you need
it could benefit with a fly screen on the doorway
Safe, fun family environment where staff are caring, helpful and friendly
Clean, spacious feel, easy access, great shower!
No Barbeque, no mosquito/insect guards on window, kitchen sink was blocking
Well equipped, very clean
We liked everything about the site and the facilities. Some of the best we have seen. The staff were fantastic.
We did receive quite a number of insect bites. Probably because we hadn't used any kind of insect repellent. If we come again we would definitely have to source the best insect repellant available.
The size of the pitch. It was huge, the largest we have ever used.
Nothing to dislike.
Fantastic food and facilities
Mooie, grote kampeerplaatsen, goed en schoon sanitair en leuke animatie
The site is amazing for campers - the size and locations of the pitchers for tourers is the best.
Being here before love the big pitches the eco friendly efforts
All staff are very helpful and always speak and happy to answer any question (we needed some caravan spares). There is lots to do, too much to mention (some free others have a fee). Toilets and showers are OK but see comments below. The takeaway, restaurant, pool bar, bar are all great including the shop with its fresh bread. Like the fact that shoes are not allowed in the pool area and you cannot reserve sunbeds :) . Overall a great site, the negatives are to help you improve further. Great holiday
The signs showing were things are could be improved (Used google) , including the old site entrance sign (confusing). Parking for caravans on arrival for checkin could be improved as the parking is for single vehicles with no trailers (I had to move as I'd blocked an exit point which had no sign). Some of the female toilets had no hand wash facilities, though the gents did! The allocated shower blocked could do with a little upgrading to be like the other
Liked the large pitch and the fact you are taken to it and everything is explained to you.
The pitch (Porquerolles) could be more level and not have the uneven ground to aid levelling the caravan and also getting access to pitch
Great safe facilities for kids, excellent kids club and really enthusiastic animation team. We will return.
Peaceful and part shade from the beautiful weather we experienced.
The friendly atmosphere in and around the campsite, great pitch, wi-fi brilliant. Enjoyed the yoga class. The showers are incredible.
We thought that there were fewer evenings with music in the big bar area compared to our stays in 2017 and 2016. This year 1 band played the week we were there.
It was quiet at night, well kept. very clean throughout
The staff were very helpful.
Relaxed atmosphere, friendliness, camp layout
Pool are could be improved
Big pitch, nicely private
Distance from main area
Everything. The culture of the campsite is excellent. The people are fantastic and helpful and everything about it is relaxed open and excellent value. I know this sounds over the top Can’t recommend enough.
Nothing. Could cater a little better for under 4s but that is really searching for something.
Huge space well Located.
Not to over crowded and loved the trail runs
Our pitch was on a slight slope
Much safer at reception with new layout. Well done!
Quality of food is reduced since last year. Pizzas sometimes only half done or raw eggs... offputting.
Very friendly and welcoming staff. Site was clean and well maintained, with a safe happy atmosphere.
The teenagers congregated on the sports field until after 11 at night, and although not rowdy you could hear them talking and their music.
Well equipped and maintained.
Great set-up had everything you could hope for. Staff were fantastic. We felt relaxed the moment we turned up to the moment we left.
It’s not a dislike but would have liked to of been in walking distance to a local village. But we knew that before going..
Clean and spacious no problems. Loved the table bbq on the decking!
It was very hot while we were there so if you can’t handle the lack of A/C pack a fan!
Both adults amd children had everything they needed.
Perfect and a really shady pitch.
No comment for this customer
Size of pitch was excellent.
New activities - concert and night walk Changes to roadway and parking outside reception
Lovely accommodation with very nice patio arrs
Need a few more umbrellas at the pool to share from the sun
Great patio area
Air conditioning would be great :-)
A clean, well-run site.
Unpleasant smell (sanitation?) near the shop/take-away.
Sanitary block worked well.
Amazing campsite - excellent overall
Not much- shop closing for 5 hours in the middle of the day is not good.
Clean - functional - nothing special but served a purpose.
Air conditioning did not work at night. Crazy! In that heat. Think it needs modernization - pretty average compared to other places I have stayed.
Friendly welcome upon arrival and great size pitches.
A bit too quiet in June for small kids, July would be better.
Great size pitches and easy access to water and drainage points.
Very clean and tidy. Very dog friendly. Not enough entertainment for older people
Take away service quality not good. Was ill next day after eating lasagne
Had all facilities
No all fine
Everything except the weather!!!
Facility for grey water disposal
No of items on menu not available
Liked the campsite, liked the facilities on offer, liked the level of cleanliness, liked the recycling bit which is well thought out. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I thought the dishes on offer in the restaurant were limited. No vegetarian dishes but 2 mussel dishes?
It was very clean and had everything we needed.
It was drafty! I didn’t like the fact it didn’t have a curtain or cover over one of the doors which meant a loss of privacy. The toilet opening onto the kitchen - never a good idea. And no sink in the toilet which is a pet hate of mine
The staff are incredible in this place, all super friendly, a real credit to the place.
The level of activities was very poor in the 2nd week, I felt that more could have been done.
We stayed in the Taos Premium, it was well worth the spend, accommodation was close to amenities and really nice
While we shouldn't have really needed it, our promised internet never worked, despite numerous visits and attempts to get it to work.
A brilliant site that exceeded our expectations!
Great campsite, great facilities - cant wait to go back !

Good pitch all round. Lots of Sunshine
A very enjoyable return visit after a long break. A lot more relaxing than when we had three boisterous children in tow! Many changes, all for the better in our opinion.
Very clean, modern and well equipped.
This was our first time in a mobile home. We did find it a little cramped, but the lovely weather meant we spent most of the time outside anyway!
Size of pitch
Not able to book a specific pitch for next year
Friendly staff, great accommodation, enjoyed the evening entertainment, good food at the bar and takeway (didn't eat in restaurant this year).
Such a good holiday for a wide range of ages . Good for my disabled husband as no issues with access. All staff friendly and very helpful
A good sized accommodation, easy wheelchair access and excellent shower facilities
relaxing, friendly, good for families, quiet, mixture of onsite activities and offsite activities.
generous sized pitches. bushes between pitches provide privacy.
La Garangeoire is our favourite campsite in the summer. The range of facilities is great. The staff are always friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make you feel at home and help with anything at all.
This year we were on Zebres and loved the fact that it was in a quiet and secluded spot and the hedging around it made it feel like we were all alone. The pitches we have had in the past have also been great and we like the size of them as you can fit the tent, car and have a play area left for kids. It's also great that the toilet blocks are always within an easy distance no matter which pitch you are on.
Activities. Pool. People
A bit busy for the first week
Very friendly, helpful staff. Accommodation clean and well looked after.
Cramped for a family with three young children
Cramped. Squeaky bed.
Helpful and friendly staff. We loved the space around the site for walks. Beautiful setting.
Loved having a fully serviced pitch.
Location and surroundings Accommodation quality
All of it!
Top bunk a bit close to ceiling
Very very clean toilets and washing facilities, a huge pitch big enough for our 5m bell tent and additional teepee tent for the teenagers. Loved the pool, the shop, the cycle hire - everything,
Huge pitch, off the beaten track but still walking distance to the big wash blocks. We stayed on the ptch called 'Parulines' it was perfect.
Everything! Very clean, helpful, beautiful settings, close to lots to do, extremely large pitches, fair price on activities. Overall this place is a gem and one we will always suggest and return to!
Possible more for the older children between 11-15. Slightly overpriced in the food shop but to be expected on site (there is a local shop Lidl within 5 mins drive).
Large pitch with privacy.
Everything about this place is amazing. They have managed to do everything right so that all families can enjoy their st stay
the size of our pitch was massive. I have never stayed anywhere else and had so much space
Very friendly staff - excellent service
Hedges around pitch gave privacy - trees gave shade.
Lots to do for all the family. Very clean site with generously sized pitches
Plenty of space for large tent, event shelter, van and play space
Utopia for children in safe environment with lots of activities
would have liked tennis courts to be free
Size of pitch - huge. Hedged for privacy. Trees to offer each pitch some sun and some shade. Lovely variety of trees.
Campsite was well kept.good service
This site is excellent
Not there long enough
Kids club not as good as Eurocamp kids club
Able to get sattelite
The clean shower blocks, lovely food, everything was always tidy and clean. Good value activities for children.
Great location, Clean tidy pitch.
This is our 2nd stay and we loved every minute. The accommodation exceeded our expectations and the staff were as friendly and helpful as ever. Food is great and the activities we took part in were great fun. Merci beaucoup!
The space inside and out. The equipment was excellent. A very comfortable mobile home in a great position, very peaceful.
Pitch size , friendliness of staff, activities
Restaurant does not live up to the rest of the site.
Size, flat, shade
at the bottom of a hill and long way from reception
Overall our stay here was absolutely amazing. The staff are all so helpful and friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a great time. There is so much to do onsite that you don’t ever have to leave if you don’t want to but the local area is also well worth a visit to see the salt marshes and the beeches.
For us out children seemed to fall into a little gap between the kids clud which they were a little bit too old for and the teenager activities which they were too young for. It also seemed like the kids club ran by the Euro amp team did much more with the children around the park like treasure hunts and den building in the Forrest. I think it would have been nice to the camp run kids club to do similar activities outside rather than indoor creative things that the young ones obviously enjoy so much. My two would have joined in more if that had been the case.
The pitch was really big and felt nice and private.
Nothing - perfect.
We have four kids--ranging in age from 5 to 11--and all were well catered for. There are so many things to do--many of them for free. Our daughter loved the kids club and two of the boys were in soccer camp most days (well worth the €5 fee--coaches were super with the kids and very skilled). The Soleo mobile-home is more spacious than previous accommodation we've stayed at and the covered deck as well as outdoor patio area gave us lots of space. Most of all, the staff everywhere--from reception to kids club to the bar--were always helpful and friendly.
Good room inside for 6 and really well stocked. Covered deck was great.
Fishing, yoga, aqua fitness
Not really overlooked, quiet!
Massive oak tree dropping its massive acorns!!!
Very clean and secure. Children could play without us worrying. Great facilities. Looking to come back next year.
Freedom for the children
Over crowded pool
Pitch was great. Good quality of evening entertainment - particularly fire show & pool party.
Very hard ground.
Large pitch with good levels of privacy and high quality of provisions such as BBQ, table & chairs & sunbeds
The ground was incredibly hard.
Showers were lovely - shower/toilets and kept to a high standard: clean: ALL staff were friendly and polite: excellent selection of takeaway food which was also good value. We thought the Lagon was a great idea but didn’t spend time there. We didn’t bring our children (grown up) so can’t comment on children’s activities.
Nothing. If I have to give a negative comment- WiFi was poor around the bar area but this is probably due to amount of people using it; some items in the shop pricey (2€ can of cola).
The size of the pitch - we had so much room! It was excellent.
Nothing negative to say
Cleanliness, friendly , lots to do in the area as well as on site
On a bit of an incline
The overall stay was stress free and an ideal location.
The accommodation was spacious, very clean and beautiful and had all the facilities we required.
Site is well maintained
Variety of activities. Taos accommodation was amazing. Reception staff very helpful
Lagoon sometimes shut with no warning. No aircon in accommodation.
Space, interior. Garden was amazing
No air conditioning
High standards of quality and cleanliness of accommodation. General cleanliness of site. Good catering facilities for restaurant and take away.
Good quality. Clean. Attentions to detail of cleaning standards.
Would have benefitted from a few coat hooks, extra hangers
As always the staff are excellent, attentive and welcoming. We booked park tickets and asked advice re local activities and they are always very knowledgeable. The cleanliness of the whole site is excellent. The WIFI has improved massively since our last stay. The pool is spotless. The evening entertainment was great. The filtered water service is a fantastic idea. The shop, restaurant and takeaway were good. The location and accomidation was good.
During the extreme heat of the first few days it would have been helpful to have a fan. There are a significant amount of activities, however, not a lot for teenagers. I know it is a massive request but to have WIFI across the whole site would be great. The restaurant is good and value for money, however, the choices apprear to have been reduced.
There was sufficient space and is was very clean. the pich is quiet and well situated to the amenities.
An addition of a fan would be great.
Kids really loved the playground area. The bar and garden area was very nice for our large group to get together in the evenings. Loved the biking in the woods. Kids loved the swimming pool too and the slides. The accomodation with bbq and outdoor seating was great
The bed was too old and too soft. Having no blankets or sheets included in the chalet to use seemed very strange and then charging for them. Having to clean up the chalet after paying high end prices was a bit annoying. Adding extra fees for the tennis courts seemed too much. Bike rental prices were a bit high for families.
Liked the kitchen and the outdoor space in particular. Appreciated it was very clean and can open the windows.
The bed was too oold and far too soft. Not good for sleeping. Should provide sheets and blankets as standard. Don't want to be charged extra for housekeeping as the chalet is not cheap (almost 1,100 euro per week minimum..and as we checked out one day early but still pay weekly minimum cost).
Accommodation was perfect choice of activities was good and swimming pools were great.
Bicycles! Too many getting in the way . Perhaps a dedicated cycle path especially for the children
Well equipped very clean tucked away and private pitch. Perfect !
Having to clean before leaving and inspection to check !!
Lovely swimming facilities. Well stocked shop. Good take away food. Clean site. Lots of facilities for children.
Speeding cars were dangerous.
Well equipped, clean central for facilities.
Mice in the roof.
The whole experience from the place, people and facilities. Very good
A very large pitch with a nice hedge around for privacy and some lovely big trees for some much needed shade.
Kids enjoyed the horse riding.
Pool was too busy. The main problem was the children charging around on bikes. Cars were restricted to 5 miles per hour, but bikes could ride a full speed without any restriction. We witnessed one accident when a child riding a bike out of control crashed into a car. We were on four separate occasions nearly knocked over by teenagers who were playing a game of how close they could get to pedestrians before skidding away. So unsafe that I would definitely not bring my family back again. No one from the staff seemed bothered at all.
The welcome at reception was very good and made a good start to the holiday. The range of activities planned by the site catered for all my family and helped to ensure that we all had a very good time during our stay.
There was nothing that we disliked.
Good spacious site which was local to wash rooms and toilet blocks.
Great staff, excellent facilities, great choice of activities for kids. Great pitches
Great size pitch
Great staff, excellent location, great animation programme. Will be back!
Quality and maintaining of the site
Pitch choice restricted by repetitive booking by the same people every year
Good Size of pitch
Shaded most of the day
No comment for this customer
Huge pitch, nice and level with a mixture of shade and sun
The size and location of the two pitches our family had and our chalet was compact, clean and had everything we needed. Loved the pool area and restaurant plus plenty of chairs and tables in the garden area where some very good entertainment was held during some evenings. Beautiful surroundings and very pleasant/helpful staff - great customer service.
Near all the main Reception area and facilities. Good outside space. Compact, clean and had all we needed.
Bedroom a bit small
Check out time was a bit too early to give you time to clean without getting up early. 11 am would be better
Kids club good
Toilet block shut for cleaning every morning first thing - around 8-830, which is not a good time as people wake up then. Also number of showers was small.
Quiet, good size
Quite bare (little grass)
Small choice of food in restaurant. Accom had numerous wasp nests.
This is a site you really don’t need to leave - there is so much to do for kids and adults alike. Although there were 1400 people on site while we were there Anne and Eric manage to make you feel like you are their special guests. It is lovely to stay on a family run site where the owners really care about your experience. This of course is also reflected in their staff who are all so friendly and helpful. It’s easy to see why so many people return time and time again!
This was a great option - very spacious pitch with furniture, fridge, bbq, drying rack and roomy shed for storage.
Equestrian centre was great - Lucie was great with our children and they loved their sessions by the end of 3 sessions our 6 and 8 year old were able to ride the ponies for an hour round the woodland with the grown ups. Swimming pool complex was good for older children would have prefered to be able to take drinks and icecreams into the pool area. Night time swim was a hit. Pancake party was great. The lagoon was really enjoyed by our girls great to have somewhere to go with scuba gear and body boards.
Our 6 year old who can swim didn't fit well with depths of the swimming pools. The main pool and covered pool were out of her depth even at the shallow end, the children's pool was too shallow and the pool with the flumes wasn't intended to be a recreational pool. We didn't managed to get booked into the restaurant and although we did use the take away once and chose mainly to cook for ourselves. Our girls would have preferred more organised entertainment.
Pitch size was fantastic - mix of shade and sun and loads of space.
We were unfortunate with our allocated pitch with roads on 3 sides and away from the main touring section and it was a little hilly/gravely for our young girls to ride their bikes very far.
Very nice relaxed family campsite, lots of activities to keep the kids happy and entertained. Beautiful surrounds to enjoy the evening sunshine.
Birds in the toilet/shower blocks
Nice spacious pitches. Park is very quiet and peaceful at night
Evening entertainment, services & activities
Pool was too overcrowded
The general ambience of the site.
The pool needs updating. It was murky and far too deep in areas.
Tree shade, decent space,
The fridge didn't work! Would have found another space too hot without the shade.
pitch was great and so we're all the facilities
pitch was huge although other campers told us that we were in a larger pitch than we booked
Everything really, we all had a brilliant time and couldn't even fit in everything we wanted to do but we'll do those things next year!!
There were so many activities for the kids, they absolutely loved it and can't wait to get back next year.
It was really really hot but we found if we opened the windows in the chalet all the fly's/bugs just swarmed in, it would be great if there were guards on the windows to prevent this from happening. Plus it would make the chalet a bit more comfortable in the heat being able to keep the windows open.
friendly stuff, beatifull location, very clean
mentioned under pitch section below
our pitch was on the small side compare to other pitches but next time we would put the preference pitch during booking. also mouse - ate some of our tent carpet and made a hole in kitchen cupboard
Kids club, variety of activities, evening entertainment, friendly atmosphere
Wooden decking around baby pool - both children’s ended up with large splinters in their feet.
Fantastic location, good use of space and very clean.
There was no baby gate on the decking which would have been very useful. Air con or second fan would be useful.
Friendly and professional staff at reception, shop, bar, take away, spa etc. Really lovely Tempo chalet with comfortable bedrooms and facilities, good sized veranda and garden area - perfect. Yoga class was exceptional. Horse riding was wonderful. Facial and massage in spa was superb. Crepe party was fun. Cycling around the beautiful site and forest was tranquil and exhilarating. Such a wonderful ambiance to the campsite - both relaxing and vibrant in equal measure. The perfect holiday - thank you.
The fishing lakes were disappointing. The literature & website somewhat misleading as to size of fish available. Impression was that there were 4 lakes to fish which were all well stocked, with fish up to 10kg, and within easy walking distance but really only 1 was accessible and fish were small. Another lake was necessary to drive to but did have slightly bigger fish. Staff did not seem to know much about lakes. As an experienced and enthusiastic carp angler the site was chosen partly based on size of fish mentioned in literature but suspect this was either out of date info or misrepresentative
Clean, well equipped, well laid out, great modern bbq, lovely location near to shop, bikes etc, lovely garden and veranda.
Bigger / more pillows?
The range of facilities were excellent and easily available for everyone. The staff were so friendly and helpful - letting me try my French too! Nothing was too much trouble for them and their local knowledge helped us to enjoy days out.
Sometimes the campsite was still very noisy long after 10.30pm which could be frustrating.
The pitch was really spacious and partly shaded which was perfect.
We love the size & quality of the pitch. Its very peaceful and kids enjoy the freedom to come and go. They said the wifi is excellent!
All 3 kids got splinters in their feet from the wood flooring around the pool which is very annoying. Also it can be very slippy around the pool and i noticed many people, including myself that nearly slipped at the edge which could be very dangerous.
Lovely pitch - great size, quite and peaceful.
EVERYTHING - we absolutely loved this park
It would be even better if the pool complex was enhanced and the lake became more of a beach and an area where the children are allowed to go and swim
The pitch was fantastic. It was large, had plenty of shade, close to facilities and the centre - and yet was so very peaceful at all times of the day
Facilities, friendliness, safety, activities.
Great camp has it all, we have come back here and may even come back again. It ticks so many boxes.
This year the soccer camp was a let down, after being so good last year it was probably one of the reasons we came back. The did not cater for the numbers. My 5 year old was there for an hour and didn’t touch the ball. Also came back one morning and realized they had been let off early,! We were a little disappointed by the quality of fresh bread and croissants every morning
Good sized accommodation on fairly private and large sites
No fan which we needed was very hot Very little storage in this particular Mobil
Lovely site with very helpful and friendly staff.
The size of the pitch we stayed on was considerably smaller than some of the other piteches that have water and electricity.
Spacious pitch. Great swimming pool and slides. Good onsite amenities. Pony centre was a big hit!
Lagoon area was a bit green looking and was out of the way down a steep hill which made it not very attractive or interesting for our kids.
spacious pitch. Quiet area.
we were in the far corner of the campsite and down a bit of a hill so we needed to use our bikes to get around the campsite. This wasn't a huge problem.
Lots of activities, quiet and felt safe. Great forest paths.
Opening times of shop
Lots of space and enclosed garden
No Oven or fan
Maybe tennis court could be a little cheaper.
Safe and secure and so friendly
Nothing to dislike
This is a 5* campsite. Very well run with activities to suit all ages if you want to participate. All facilities very clean, and kept clean throughout the day. Quietness is respected by all at the given time at night.
Private pitch, well kept and nice shade.
It was a return visit for us, we really enjoyed our holiday at Garangeoire.
The chalet was very comfortable, clean and perfect for 2 adults.
It would be nice to have a fan in the living area for hot days/evenings
range of activities for kids - onsite restaurant - wine tasting option
no sheets or towels in the accommodation without purchasing - basic requirements should be provided
no sheets or towels without purchasing - beds should have been made up and towels provided as basic requirement
This was our 6th year at la garangeoire, our first time booking directly with site. Accommodation was spotless and site was perfect as usual
Loved the sheltered deck. Was like another room. Was used all the time. Kids were hardly ever inside the mobile
Top bunk was a little claustrophobic. Children would not use it.
Good sized and hedged pitches which are quite secluded despite the size of the campsite. There are also lots of beautiful areas you can get peace on the site if you go for a short walk. Lots going on for the kids, and a good mix of nationalities for them (and us) to mix with. Lots of the staff will help you improve your french by speaking slowly and clearly. Monique at reception gets a special mention for that!
Could probably do with more bike racks - getting about the site by bike is great, but the pool area and reception can be a bit congested with them.
Hedged pitches with enough trees to give parts of the pitch sun or shade depending on what you wanted.
The wood pigeons defecating on my tent - but that's the price you pay for partial shade!
Proximity to amenities
Friendly staff. Beautiful setting
Could provide more than one pillow. Pillows very poor quality
Location near field. Weber bbq. Covered Deck. Good storage.
Would book 3 bedroom next time. Quality of sofa bed not great. Need better quality pillows.
Relaxed feel of camp, amenities, safety for children (lack of cars)
Yoga, take away specials, trail walks, restaurant at the lake
Ina ility to swim at lake
The clientele.. Ambience. Good management.Good privacy, size of pitch...
Convenience to pool/bar area.private.
Interior colour and decor dark and a little dated.
Site looked a bit scruffy.
Very large pitch
Sloping pitch, very hard to get caravan level.
The facilities and staff
A very small thing but the freezer compartment in our hired fridge didn't get cold enough
Size of complex and range of activities
Good site facilities and walks
The weather was very hot but our pitch had no shade at all
Relaxing atmosphere. Sense of space. Staff were always happy & helpful.
Not being allowed footwear in the pool complex. The ground was so hot it made me wee girl cry. Ridiculous rule.
Electrics good & reliable. Sanitary block perfect. Pitch nice & private.
Having to get down on my hands & knees to wash sanitary block floor before getting my security deposit back. Sanitary block was perfectly tidy on handover.....but apparently not tidy enough!
A really great site, loads to do and very helpful staff
On site food limited and expensive
Plenty big enough for a family of 4
Beds were typical of caravan's, not really comfortable
So much choice of activities. Lots to do to keep everybody happy. Everywhere very clean and staff friendly and helpful. Takeaway was good. Shop has most basics you would need. Very quiet at night for a good night sleep!
Restaurant was ok but expensive for small portions.
Private, quiet pitches and well maintained.
There are so many things to say and do. The kids love all the activities on offer. It is also really close to amenities and the seaside
The outside seating area is excellent when the kids are asleep. Lots of sleeping room inside as well.
Attractive grounds, plenty of outside space.
The lack of space in the bedroom, very difficult for older people
For 2 people manageable, for 4 people impossible, so little storage space.
Perfect and cute
All of it
We stayed in chalet while other family members and friends stayed in safari tents. Age range 2 to 83. We all loved La Garangeoire.
Compact but has everything Lovely private pitch. Probably too small for family - we were 2 adults.
Accommodation, size of site, activities, swimming pools, bouncy castle, trampolines. Staff were amazing and couldn't be more helpful. Garderie. Proximity to horse riding. Restaurant and bar menu and staff.
Go carts slightly expensive, but given most other activities were complimentary not an issue.
Spacious. Modern. New. Clean. High spec. Wi-Fi!!
Only 1 thing- we experienced a few days of rain and a canopy similar to that on the eurocamp avant would have allowed us to enjoy the deck.
Never felt crowded
The songs at the kids disco were not only suitable for the age of child at the disco. As a parent, i recognised the songs from nightclubs in the past. A playlist age appropriate should be signed off by management and not left to the member of staff on the night, who randomly picks songs from their ipod etc. Having that said, Aoife at the kids club built a fantastic rapor with alot of children and got great response and hugs from the kids.
Spacious, nice to have 2 bathrooms. Canopy was very handy.
Friendly staff and all amenities especially the pool area.
We felt the grounds could have been more tidy with regard to the pitches, the grass in particular needed to be cut shorter, as when camping and the grass is wet in the morning, it's not pleasant.
We loved the ease of the amenities on the pitch!
The Grass was too long.
Pitch size And quality. Friendly reception staff & bar staff. Overall friendly customer-focused atmosphere.
Loved the pitch size & quality of grass.
Clean well-organised site with lots of facilities and activities. Bars, restaurants and supermarket. Super-helpful and very friendly staff.
The forest setting was lovely. The activities for the children and the adults were great!
Good space and kitchen well equipped. The BBQ was a good resource to have as we love cooking and eating outdoors.
The relaxed atmosphere of the park was great for us during this weeks holiday.
In the height of summer there may be challenges in the bar area which is small.
loads of room for a family with 3 teenagers
Had a fantastic stay with excellent services on site
Great amenities. Great hosts
Food quality average at take away
Good restaurant, Stephanie was brilliant, in the bar next to reception. Nice pool and lovely walking routes.
Campsite was added to your favourites
