Camping Village Miramare: Perfect for a family holiday

At Camping Village Miramare, we experienced exactly the kind of family holiday we love: relaxing, balanced and full of small, simple pleasures.

If there is one day that perfectly sums up our stay, it was the day we combined a trip to Livorno with a relaxing afternoon at the campsite between the pool and the sea.

Originally, we had planned an early start for a cultural outing with the children, but we couldn’t resist the smell of freshly baked bread from the campsite’s mini-market. So, the day began in the most relaxed way possible, with breakfast on the terrace of our bungalow: warm bread, jam, fruit juice, and that typical peaceful holiday morning atmosphere. Taking our time, without rushing – it felt like pure luxury.

On the recommendation of the reception team at Camping Village Miramare, we decided to visit Livorno. The historic part of the city with its canals (fossi) is ideal for a visit with children aged 5 and 8. We had planned to also go to Pisa.

On arrival in Livorno, we began our exploration in the Venezia Nuova district. As we strolled along the canals, crossing small bridges, passing moored boats and old façades, the children were fascinated by the water flowing beneath the houses and the boats lying so close to the buildings.

We took our time and explained that these canals were once used to transport goods. The visit naturally turned into a small journey back in time – simple, playful, and perfectly suited for their age.

Around lunchtime, we stopped at restaurant Al Fosso Reale, located along one of the canals. It was the ideal place for a relaxed family lunch. We chose the famous Cacciucco, a Livorno specialty, served with crostini.

For the children, we ordered simple, familiar dishes: pasta with tomato sauce and a schnitzel with fries. For dessert, we shared a Torta di Ceci and a handmade crostata, both were a great choice.

After lunch, we noticed the children were getting tired. So, we decided to postpone Pisa to another day and return to the campsite early afternoon. That decision turned out to be the right one.

After a short, refreshing nap in our bungalow, the children headed straight to the pool. We enjoyed a quiet moment by the water whilst the children splashed about in the pool. A real break for everyone – in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

Later in the afternoon, it was time for the beach and we reached the sea via the campsite’s direct private access. There, we discovered a small bay and with shallow water – perfect for our children.

They spent a long-time playing searching for shells and shiny pebbles and safely splashing in the water, while we relaxed on rented sun loungers under a parasol, overlooking the sea.

One of those moments when you truly feel you are exactly where you are meant to be.

At the end of the day, we made use of the campsite’s barbecue area overlooking the sea. Whilste the children played in the adjacent playground, we chatted with other families around the grill.

The atmosphere was warm and relaxed, without intrusive entertainment – exactly what we had been looking for.

We went to bed with that satisfying feeling of having spent a wonderful, well-balanced day: a bit of sightseeing, plenty of shared moments, the swimming pool, the sea, peace and quiet, and the true feeling of a successful family holiday.

Child-friendly facilities

Our children immediately felt comfortable thanks to the campsite’s family-friendly infrastructure:

• a mini club open in high season in the mornings and afternoons
• an inviting playground
• a family-friendly pool area
• direct access to the campsite’s private beach

Every day offered many opportunities to meet other campers – not only for the children, but also for the parents. Conversations started easily, tips were exchanged and experiences were shared.

Direct access to the beach is a real advantage. The protected bay with its gently sloping waters allows children to play safely.

The campsite also offers several beautifully designed viewpoints with benches right by the sea, providing stunning views of the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. Perfect spots to pause, observe, breathe deeply, and simply enjoy the moment.

Gastronomy and regional products

We really appreciated the campsite’s restaurant with pizzeria, which offers simple dishes and local products. The on-site mini-market is also extremely convenient – especially for fresh bread in the morning and regional specialties that make it easy to prepare a relaxed meal at the accommodation.

Relaxing evenings
The evening entertainment is discreet and well adapted to families with young children. No excessive noise or overly energetic atmosphere, but pleasant moments to gently wind down the day without disturbing the rest of younger guests.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Camping Village Miramare – above all because of the perfect balance between relaxation, cultural discoveries, and family life.

Everything is designed to make the holiday as easy as possible for parents and to offer children a safe, carefree experience.

Between the proximity to Livorno and Pisa, the direct access to the sea, the protected bay, the well-suited facilities, and the friendly atmosphere, this campsite offered exactly what we were looking for: a stress-free holiday filled with simple moments and genuine shared experiences.
