However nearby, Lake Aiguebelette has a number of campsites on its shores as well as Lac du Bourget north of the city.

There are many things to do in Chambéry. Discover the castle of the Dukes of Savoy, the Charmettes museum, the Saint-François-de-Sales cathedral and the museum of Natural History. Stroll through the old town, its arcades and its many shops (no less than 1200!).

Of course there are the great outdoors to explore on foot, by mountain bike or even horseback. There are opportunies to go mountaineering and canyoning and after all effort you've put your body through, spend time relaxing at the thermal baths.
