Our village is located 600 metres from the sea and 10 km from Royan, much of it situated in a pine forest typical of south west France.

In a family and relaxed atmosphere, you can enjoy in summer, direct and free access to the municipal supervised swimming pool (weekends in June, afternoons in July and August) or to the wooded petanque ground. Les Charmettes is our Superman parc; like the superhero’s alter ego Clarke Kent, the parc is quiet and serene around the edges, but delve a little deeper and it really packs a punch! Les Charmettes offers a perfect holiday destination that ticks all the boxes for a great break away.Situated on the west coast of France, near famous places such as Bordeaux, La Rochelle and Cognac, it's a great base for getting out and exploring, and you'll find that there are plenty of activities to keep even the younger ones entertained. If relaxing more locally is your idea of holiday heaven, then head down to the central entertainment complex. Mums and dads can pull up a sunbed next to the vast oudoor pool, whilst the youngsters are guaranteed hours of fun with the splash zones, water slides and many supervised activities, such as water games and even the Rookie Lifeguard course! A full programme of sporting events also runs during the season, so venture away from the pools and you can join in with football, basketball, volleyball or maybe crazy golf!

We have a great pleasure to welcome you on our campsite, site of 8 hectares in the middle of a privileged natural space, the forest of pines 'la Coubre' and near to the beaches 'la côte sauvage'.

Oleron _The Luminous_ is the second largest French island after Corsica. Oleron is 175 Km² and has an exceptional climate. In Oleron you can find beautiful sandy beaches, labelled Pavillon Bleu (A Blue Flag award for very good environmental standards) and it is a little haven for nautical sports (windsurfing, kite surfing, sand yachting, canoeing, etc). Go for a walk, ride a bike or a horse to the heart of the pine forest and the marshes. Don't hesitate to stop for a nature escape in _Les marais aux oiseaux_ (The bird marshes) in Dolus and _Le Port des Salines_ in Grand Village. Moreover, Oléron has an exceptional historic heritage including the well known Fort Boyard, citadels of Oléron and Brouage castles, churches and some small typical villages with lovely coloured fishermen houses.
