Castellane (altitude 720m) is situated in Haute-Provence, at the crossroads of the magnificent Gorges du Verdon (Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon) and the Route Napoléon. It is a calm tourist centre and enjoying the benefits of the Provençal climate. Camping Notre-Dame is bordered by a small stream and is only 600 m from the village. The site is flat and well shaded, having a quiet family atmosphere, providing free hot showers (24 hours a day), small shop and a variety of mobile-homes to rent. Castellane itself offers many shops and a supermarket, a large heated swimming-pool, tennis courts, rafting, kayaking, canyonning and fishing in the Verdon river. At the lake of Castillon, a mere 5kms up a splendid hill, one can sail, windsurf and swim. In addition, there is hiking, horse riding, mountain biking and climbing in the Gorges du Verdon. For the experts, there is cave exploring and geological sites (Réserve Géologique de Haute-Provence). Camping Notre-Dame is open April / October.

Propriétaire très disponible, souriant, aimable, convivial… au top!!! très avenant surtout en cas de grosse tempête, il passe voir tout le monde !!! Il offre beaucoup de services payants bien sûr, comme la possibilité de faire nettoyer et sécher son linge, des livraisons possible grâce à ses partenariats, de très bon conseils pour les visites ou restaurants ou plages etc… petit camping ombragé, même pour les emplacements… Centre-ville très festif, beau et animé grâce aux commerçants et aux restaurants, et à 10mn tranquille à pied.
Meilleur connections wifi, car ma 4g fonctionnait mieux. Plus d’espace entre les mobil-homes, à notre avis.

Mobile-home spacieux et propre ainsi que tous les accessoires et linge, nécessaire de nettoyage fonctionnel, vaisselle suffisante, lits confortables,
Pour nous, pas assez d’intimité car Mobile-home trop proche, du coup on entend le voisin œuvrer dans le logement, les gens passent tout proche de notre location, manque rideau occultant ou mettre film sur les vitres ce qui permettrait d’avoir le jour dans l’ombilicale -home et avoir de l’intimité car un jour, pour avoir de la clarté j’ai ouvert les doubles rideaux et j’ai vu mon voisin dévêtu. Nous avons aussitôt chacun de notre côté, fermé les doubles rideaux et du coup allumé pour avoir de la clarté en pleine journée ( pas économique). Et passage des voitures dû à la route pas de notre loge

Lovely campsite close to town. Wonderful views of mountains from site. The owner Eric organised a wonderful welcome evening for campers with free wine and lots of useful local information. All amenities ere immaculately clean. Castellan a great little town.
