Oleron _The Luminous_ is the second largest French island after Corsica. Oleron is 175 Km² and has an exceptional climate.
In Oleron you can find beautiful sandy beaches, labelled Pavillon Bleu (A Blue Flag award for very good environmental standards) and it is a little haven for nautical sports (windsurfing, kite surfing, sand yachting, canoeing, etc).
Go for a walk, ride a bike or a horse to the heart of the pine forest and the marshes. Don't hesitate to stop for a nature escape in _Les marais aux oiseaux_ (The bird marshes) in Dolus and _Le Port des Salines_ in Grand Village.

Campings en la playa
La ruta surfera tiene paradas obligatorias en distintos países europeos. Entre España y Francia y a lo largo de la costa atlántica, se encuentra toda la zona del golfo de Vizcaya. Aquí destacan puntos surferos tan importantes como Hossegor y Biscarrosse, situados en el País Vasco francés a unos 40 kilómetros de Biarritz.
Sin movernos de Francia, hacemos un alto en el camino en Finistère, en la región de Bretagne, donde podrá disfrutar de paisajes de película mientras surfea, tales como Guidel, Minou, Palue o la isla Vaches.
Para no perderse ni una ola, puede reservar un camping con acceso directo a la playa en Pirineos-Atlánticos o, ya en España, en la costa del País Vasco. En este recorrido, podrá disfrutar de destinos beach breaks como Anglet, Hendaya o St Jean de Luz.
La ruta del surf en España va de norte a sur. Aquí podrá reservar su camping junto al mar en Tarifa y a lo largo de la Costa de la Luz en Cádiz. Con olas de hasta 3 metros de altura, el sitio donde más surferos va a encontrar en esta zona es la playa de Los Lances, junto a la isla de La Paloma.
En el norte de España puede seguir las ondas de agua hasta Cantabria donde podrá disfrutar de hermosas playas naturales y de la naturaleza en estado puro.
Pero, sin duda, las olas que ponen los pelos de punto y que harán volar su tabla están en Portugal. No puede llamarse a sí mismo master of surf hasta que no se ha subido a lomos de una ola en Nazaré. Otros puntos en este país tan surfero son Peniche, Sintra, Cascais o Aljezur.
En Italia, por su parte, el punto de encuentro de los surferos está en Cerdeña, especialmente Capo Mannu, situado a unos 30 kilómetros de Oristano. Gracias a su posición privilegiada en el Mediterráneo y a estar expuesta al viento garbino, en esta zona puede llegar a coger olas de hasta 4 metros de altura.
Agarre su tabla con fuerza y a disfrutar de las olas en un camping surf friendly.
