Our family-run campsite is peaceful and has 7,5 acres of shady pitches for tents and caravans as well as 6 fully-equipped summer lodges for rent.

Situated in the lower gorges of the Verdon, on the banks of the turquoise lake at Esparron de Verdon, terraced under oak trees on the edge of the hills, Le Soleil campsite is calm and natural, disturbed only by the song of the cicadas and the wonderful smells of Provence. Swimming, fishing, relaxing, sunbathing and water sports are part of every day's holiday here. 

Comfort is the equivalent of four stars. On-site services include: Bar, grocery shop, restaurant, canoe hire, games room, children's games, table tennis, ball pitches and seasonal entertainment.

At the gateway to the internationally renowned Gorges du Verdon, 90 minutes from the sea and the mountains, the region is welcoming and varied. All kinds of sports and relaxation are possible, but that's not all: numerous museums with a wide variety of themes, monuments and châteaux, all witnesses to a rich past, are waiting nearby.

You will be captivated by a luxuriant nature, by the astonishing contrast of the landscapes which undergo the mountain and Mediterranean influence.

Castellane (altitude 720m) is situated in Haute-Provence, at the crossroads of the magnificent Gorges du Verdon (Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon) and the Route Napoléon. It is a calm tourist centre and enjoying the benefits of the Provençal climate. Camping Notre-Dame is bordered by a small stream and is only 600 m from the village. The site is flat and well shaded, having a quiet family atmosphere, providing free hot showers (24 hours a day), small shop and a variety of mobile-homes to rent. Castellane itself offers many shops and a supermarket, a large heated swimming-pool, tennis courts, rafting, kayaking, canyonning and fishing in the Verdon river. At the lake of Castillon, a mere 5kms up a splendid hill, one can sail, windsurf and swim. In addition, there is hiking, horse riding, mountain biking and climbing in the Gorges du Verdon. For the experts, there is cave exploring and geological sites (Réserve Géologique de Haute-Provence). Camping Notre-Dame is open April / October.

At an altitude of 600 metres, a 75 ha naturist area will enable you to make the most of this exceptional location in the heart of the Verdon Regional Natural Park. The naturist area has spacious pitches for tents, caravans and camper vans as well as comfortable gites and mobile homes, and new lodge tents. In a setting surrounded by nature, you will find on the site two lakes, 35 hectares of forest, a large part of which is devoted to naturist walks. For your comfort, the estate is equipped with games for your children, ping-pong tables and a sauna. In season, enjoy our pool terrace on site to enjoy ice creams and drinks. The estate also has 11 gîtes (non-classified).

Calm or animated holidays, everything is possible at the Sunêlia l’Hippocampe! We put on an entertainment programme for both young and old to ensure there is never a dull moment. Relax at the pools, dream in the bubbles of the jacuzzi, gloss over the waterslides and play with the youngest in the paddling pool, this is pure happiness. You can practice canoeing boating and fishing on the river boarding the campsite. You prefer sports activities? The campsite is the ideal starting point for hiking or mountain biking. You will discover the breath-taking landscapes, fauna and flora of the Alpes de Haute Provence. Do not miss the Verdon Canyon, the famous lavender fields of Valensole, the natural parks of Luberon or Mercantour near our campsite.
