In addition, there are fun play equipment, a sandpit with water pump and a playing field. Our campsite is a 30-minute drive from the cities Groningen and Dokkum. Leeuwarden (European Capital of Culture 2018) is a 45-minute drive away. The boat to Schiermonnikoog leaves from Lauwersoog (13.5 km) and the boat to Ameland leaves from Holwerd (37 km) Dogs are welcome at the campsite, but on a leash.

Buytenplaets Suydersee is a small-scale location where tranquillity and space are the keywords. On the border of city and forest, you will be amazed by the nature that Flevoland has to offer, even at this location in the middle of the built-up area of Lelystad. Buytenplaets Suydersee is not called an 'oasis of tranquillity' for nothing! The location is shaped by the tree structure planted during the impoldering of Flevoland. This has created a square-shaped structure that divides the site into different 'zones'. The range of various accommodation options is thereby separated in a natural way.
